Two ceramic presses EVO relocated and installed in Yekaterinburg

Two presses EVO 3608/1800 SITI unloaded, relocated into the workshop and set into the pit

In September 2017 on request from Zavod keramicheskikh izdely (Ceramic plant, PAO) our Company unloaded two ceramic presses EVO 3608/1800 SITI from low loaders, relocated them into the workshop, tipped into vertical position and set them into the pit. Mass of one machinery unit is 65,000 kg.

Project operations

Our engineers and assembly workers executed the following operations within the framework of this project:

  • Elaboration of the Work Production Plan.
  • Installation of the GP125 gantry system.
  • Installation of the GP500 gantry system.
  • Press unloading from low loaders.
  • Press relocation into the workshop to the installation site.
  • 90-degree turn of the presses.
  • Press tipping into vertical position.
  • Press setting into the pit on a foundation.
  • Press leveling.

Rigging operations

Low loaders with the machinery could not enter the workshop, therefore our specialists unloaded the presses with the help of the GP125 gantry system outside the workshop at the platform in front of it. Then the presses were relocated into the workshop by means of special vehicles.   By means of the GP500 gantry system they were relocated and turned to 90 degrees inside the workshop. Then they were tipped into vertical position and set on a foundation.

Machinery involved at the site

Our specialists operated own hydraulic gantries and 120-ton-capacity rigging trolleys. Deployment of the GP500 gantry system made it possible to accomplish all the operations inside the workshop in a safe way, including press tipping.

Peculiarities of the operations at the site

During relocation and installation of the press machinery our specialists faced the following challenges:

  • Size of the area in front of the workshop gates insufficient for low loaders’ maneuvering.
  • Small size of the area inside the workshop insufficient for fulfillment of all the required operations with the presses.
  • The problem of the machinery allocation at the installation site caused by small size of the area.

The works were performed at an operating manufacturing facility. The operation areas were taped off. The machinery underwent thorough calibration check before rigging operations. The works were supervised by an OEM engineer whose shift costs considerable money.

Our specialists had to respond quickly to any alterations of the timelines concerning delivery of the presses for unloading. The works inside the workshop were accomplished in confined space, and our specialists had to act swiftly. 4 specialists were involved in the operations at the site. Their experience and skills allowed them to accomplish the tasks set forward by the Customer quickly, successfully and within the prescribed time limits.

How safety precautions and low cost were achieved

Our engineers developed quite complicated Work Production Plan that described in details possible allocation of the machinery required for safe and well-timed execution of the works.

To relocate the presses to the workshop we engaged special vehicles, i.e. our own modular trailer with pivoting wheels.  To optimize allocation and to fulfill all the required operations with the presses, including their tipping, a 500-ton-capacity gantry system was engaged. The engagement of the gantry system made it possible to perform rigging operations, as no truck crane with required load capacity could enter the premises and be deployed there.

Plywood grinding line dismantled

On request from one of the leading Russian lumber factories, our Company (100 TONN MONTAZH) dismantled, packed, loaded and relocated a Satos-22 K+NN-based plywood grinding line to a new site (grinding machine, Steinemann Technology AG). Aspiration machinery (filters, fans, lock feeders, air ducts, Scheuch GmbH (Austria) was also dismantled. Total mass of the dismantled equipment is more than 100 tonnes. The machinery has been delivered to the Customer’s site. As usual, the works were successfully accomplished in due time.

HEINRICH GEORG TRM120/15/11-6h-3200 Straightening Machine relocated and installed in Kamensk-Uralsky, Sverdlovskaya Oblast

In February 2017, our Company (100 TONN MONTAZH) relocated and installed HEINRICH GEORG TRM120/15/11-6h-3200 Straightening Machine for KUMZ (Kamensk-Uralsky Metallurgical Works, OAO) It was necessary to unpack this machinery and install it precisely on the embedded elements under strict control of the OEM’s representatives. A gantry system was urgently engaged for the works. It was fitted with special tools for high precision positioning of the machinery. The works were accomplished under normal conditions within the timelines prescribed by the Customer in accordance with the requirements of the installation supervisors. The mass of the straightening machine is 80 tonnes.

BBM Kautex blow machine dismantled, packed and loaded onto a vehicle

Our Company (100 TONN MONTAZH) together with the SCHOLPP Iberica specialists dismantled, packed and loaded some parts of the BBM Kautex blow machine onto a vehicle. The maximum weight of one piece of the machinery is 56 tonnes. A 125-ton-capacity hydraulic gantry system was applied for lowering of the blow machine platform and loading of the platform and joining unit onto a vehicle. All the works were accomplished within the time lines prescribed by the Customer.

Press relocated in Pskovskaya Oblast

In January 2017, our Company (100 TONN MONTAZH) relocated a ready-assembled LEXUS press with total mass of 36 tonnes for Machine-building company Velmash in Velikiye Luki. The works were performed within the framework of scheduled product-line expansion. Production process was developed in details by our specialists in the Work Production Plan. The customer is fully satisfied with the quality and scope of the service. He also highly appraised skills and attitude of our specialists. All the works were performed with high quality ahead of the originally approved schedule.

Machining centres set to final position

In January 2017, our Company (100 TONN MONTAZH) accomplished installation works setting two MAG HÜLLER HILLE machining centres (FFG Werke-Drehmaschinen Concern, Germany) to final position within the premises of the Yaroslavsky electric machine-building plant. The vehicle with the machinery was too high for a low flyover in front of the workshop, so it was decided to carry out complex rigging operations with heavy (up to 29 tonnes) parts of the machinery before installation works. Preparation of the machinery for installation was a rather difficult task as the weather was extremely cold (up to minus 29 °С) during the New Year holidays. Good work planning and proper actions of the installation workers allowed us to relocate the machinery to the installation site quickly and accurately. Marking, anchoring and setting the machining centres to final position were performed under normal conditions and in due time.

Works accomplished for BOSCH in Samara

Our Company (100 TONN MONTAZH) successfully accomplished relocation, packaging and loading of the parts of a production line for BOSCH in Samara. The parts were loaded into 40 ft containers. Industrial packaging and securing of the goods were carried out at a professional level with application of special materials used for cargo protection during sea transportation.

5 sections of charging and receiving roller tables of Hot mill 2000 replaced in Magnitogorsk

In January 2017, our Company (100 TONN MONTAZH) disassembled the foundations and installed 5 sections of the charging and receiving roller tables of Hot mill 2000 in slitting lines shop (LPTS-10) for MMK (Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Company, OAO). Our specialists worked 24 hours a day during scheduled repairs of metallurgical equipment in the LPTS-10 shop. All necessary resources (workers and equipment) were mobilized at the work site prior to starting the works. Our specialists faced different challenges during disassembly of the roller tables, unforeseen time expenditures during disassembly of the foundations and other subtleties while working 24 hours a day under continuous control from the Customer. Generally, the works were accomplished with high quality. Hot mill 2000 machinery has been successfully set to work in the LPTS-10 shop.

Foundation dismantled and Hot mill 2000 charging and receiving roller tables installed in Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinskaya Oblast

In January 2017, our Company (100 TONN MONTAZH) dismantled the foundations, relocated and installed 5 sections of the Hot mill 2000 charging and receiving roller tables in slitting lines shop (LPTS-10) for MMK (Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Company, OAO). Our specialists worked 24 hours a day during scheduled repairs of metallurgical machinery in the LPTS-10 shop. All necessary resources (workers and equipment) were mobilized at the work site prior to starting the works. Our specialists faced certain difficulties while dismantling the roller tables and foundations working 24 hours a day. Their qualification allowed them to accomplish the works with high quality. The Hot mill 2000 machinery was successfully set to work in the LPTS-10 shop.

TR-24 cyclotron elements relocated and set to final position in Yekaterinburg

In the period from 25 DEC to 29 DEC 2016, on request from Innovative Implementation Centre of Irradiation Sterilization (being part of higher educational institution Ural Federal University) within the framework of the Nuclear Medicine Centre construction project, our Company (100 TONN MONTAZH) relocated the TR-24 cyclotron elements from the temporary storage warehouse to the installation site. The machinery from 500 kg to 25 tonnes was relocated to the installation site at different heights (from 0 to +6.0) with the use of a telescopic forklift and labour saving tools. This allowed us to carry out all the works inside rather small premises of the University.
